Moving to Hong Kong has been very challenging for me. Adjustments come from left and right in every aspect, even in my nightlife. In the Philippines, I'd been used to hanging out with friends in bars, clubs, and even in homes. Finding and feeling the same vibe was a bit difficult  until I've been to Lan Kwai Fong.

The place just gets all swarmed up at night, especially during paydays that fall on a Friday. Vin and I, together with our friends, are always counted in. Since LKF is also a hot spot for  tourists, lots of foreigners would come up there at night and have their photos taken behind the LKF street sign, on the corner of our favorite hangout, Marlin.

Now, there's new addition to the ever-friendly LKF. With the opening of the American chain Hard Rock Cafe, it will become livelier than ever.

We were fortunate enough to be given a two-guest invite for lunch (17 April) during their soft opening.

Quite sadly, we were given a limited menu at the front desk. My husband was not just a bit, but completely disappointed that there was no steak or a slab of baby back ribs on the menu.
Since there wasn't much options, we started this very tasty nachos. We were actually surprised at how big the serving was since it was just the two of us.

Our reservation was set at 12.40PM but we got there an hour late. Imagine how hungry we were when we got there. Waiting time took almost an hour for the nachos to be served. So when we ate them, it was heaven. It was in fact, with all the beans, cheese, sour cream, jalapenos, onions, and the steak cut into small pieces. By the time we stopped eating them we were already full and I am not kidding. It was so big we could still accommodate some company with our leftover.
Nachos for $134
After almost an hour when our nachos was served, came our burgers. Mine was the Mushroom and Swiss Burger and his was the Legendary 10 oz. Burger.

And again the burgers were big and we didn't finish them.

With all honesty, I found both burgers dry. Yes, they were humongous and the patties were thick but they weren't juicy. I've been used to McDonald's Double Cheeseburger and Hard Rock's doesn't quite top the former in my own taste.

But, I was able to bring my doggie bag to work the next day and it tasted way better than it was that day.
The Mushroom & Swiss Burger at around $147
The Legendary 10 oz  Burger
Nevertheless, there's an array of good food other than the menu provided for us that day. And in our endless search for tummy-filling food, there's still a reason to go to Hard Rock.
